Sympathy means to acknowledge the suffering or predicament of a person and his/her situation. There are two words in English, Sympathy and Empathy. Also, although I had been writing poems since my childhood, I realized through certain social incidents like Nirbhaya, 26/11, The Peshawar Killings, that poem should be used for social awakening! My father’s idea of outing was a trip to the National Library in Kolkata and I loved equally the smell of books as I loved my tryst with them!
